MEMBERSHIP

National Society Membership

  Membership of the RSPCA National Society costs just £24 per annum.  You apply directly to the National Society, by telephone, post or website   (www.rspca.org.uk) and your details are held on their database.  You can pay by cheque, card, or direct debit.

  Your details are then passed to your local branch for them to make contact with you.  In the case of HSWK Branch, you will receive a letter from our Branch Trustee with responsibility for Membership welcoming you to the Branch and thanking you for your support.

  A percentage of your membership fee will be directed to your local branch, though most of it stays with the National Society, paying for important things like the Inspectors and Animal Collection Officers, Campaigns and Lobbying, and International welfare work.  Please see their website for more details.

  While your membership is current with the National Society, you are entitled to a voice in our Branch, our Region (South Southwest) and the National Society.  You will be invited to attend our Branch's Annual General Meeting (please see the AGM page), where you can nominate or vote for our Branch Committee members.  We are required to have a minimum number of National Society Members present at each AGM in order to hold the meeting, so your membership and presence is VITAL!!!

"Friends" of the Branch

  Being a "Friend" of the Branch doesn't cost a particular amount of money.  We value every donation of both money and time.  Becoming a "Friend" takes only a request from yourself and is a show of your committment. 

  "Friends" are the driving force behind our Fundraising efforts, and so they meet once a month with our Branch Trustees with responsibility for Fundraising in order to talk about and plan upcoming events and to come up with new ideas for fundraising.

  At the meetings, usually held on a Monday evening every 4-6 weeks, there is also a report from a key person within the Branch or National Society to talk about how the raised money is being put to good use.

  To become a "Friend", please complete a volunteer application form, found on the Volunteering webpage.   You will be informed of meeting dates once you have passed the references stage of the application process.
